Hi,

A couple of quick questions that I cannot seem to find the answer to
from the Help.

I am new to 6.1 but have a *little* experience of earlier versions
(though this is the first time that I've managed to get a machine config
*almost* in step with a Redhat version).

I have a machine with a Sis6326 video card and have come across the text
colour/background problem in terminal windows. I found a fix, I hope,
via Deja but need to get to a prompt so that I can edit the XF86Config
file.

So:

1. How do prevent X starting during boot-up?
2. How do I get back to a prompt once in X?

I've read the manuals but can't see anything to tell me. I've also been
through the Help pages would appear to be the same thing.

A pointer to the proper place to look would be sufficient and any
assistance appreciated.

TIA
