Along these lines, I'm having trouble with a USR 56K Voice INT PnP which (under windows) is installed on com2 but, when i use linux, it finds the modem on /dev/ttyS0. However when i try to connect using kppp, it hangs at intializing modem. I've tried setting every possible option, changed the intialization commands etc. I took a look at the logs and i noticed a kernel message to the effect that ppp0 hadn't been configured. I tried to configure it manually with no luck, and tried using pppd to dial via command line with no luck. I started peeking at the isapnp.conf file to see if i could move the modem to Com2 but was scared away when i couldn't understand a word it said. Any help?
