Hi,
You need to change the /etc/inittab file
about 16 lines down you will find a line
id:5:initdefault
change the 5 to a 3 and you are set.
There is a commented section telling
you what all the run levels are. I really
think level 3 should be the default
setup, since if x doesn't work you really
have problems.
