I have installed Redhat 5.2 (kernel 2.0.36) on my Toshiba Libretto 100CT. I installed it from a backpack cdrom attached to the parallelport. And after the install I wanted to configure my network. I have a Farallon card, wich uses 3c589_cs. When I boot my machine, it probes for the card, and the card is loaded in a correct way (I think). BUT!! When I do a portscan on this machine it only answers on UDP. I can ping the machine, and ping from the machine to my local network. I can do a tcpdump and see all the tcp/iptraffic on my local network, but nothing else. I can't anything from or to this machine, wich uses tcp/ ip. I've checked the routing and it is ok. I also tried to edit the /etc/pcmcia/config and added opts "if_port=n" to get the card to probe for a specific 10baseT or 10base2 connection. 10baseT works, but with 10base2 it looses all the contact with the network (even the ping and the UDP). Anyone has any suggestions? Anna *:o) Geocrawler.com - The Knowledge Archive -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
