I'm really not sure how to describe this in more detail, but I'll
try. 

Start the program linuxconf. It can run in text mode, or with a
gui. Either way, navigate to 
Config -> Networking -> Client Tasks -> PPP/SLIP/PLIP.

if you have an ppp0 entry, delete it.

then add one. try follow my instructions below and ask if you have any
specific problem settign it up. It really is just like doing it under
win9x if yiou have ever done that.
