Optical Disk Drive

I'm trying to get a Panasonic 5000 series MO-optical disk drive to work
with an Adaptec 2940 card (should be easy).  These disks are probably
already in MSDOS format, so if anyone could help out in where I need to go
with this, it would be great.  I'm on a base RedHat6.0 install, but I can
upgrade the kernel or whatever needs to be done.  I've checked out the
how-to a bit.
