Anyone have any insight:
I have a 3com etherlink III (3c509b) isa nic in a 486 acting as a
dns server. I installed redhat 6.0 from a revised cd i made with
all the updates and security patches. The card wasn't recognized
during install. After, i did an insmod 3c509.o and the module
loaded correctly. I did a depmod -a and a modprobe 3c509 after
removing module and check the /etc/conf.modules as Charles
suggested. Everything's there. However, after a reboot, the eth0
interface fails. I have to do a insmod 3c509.o and a
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart and the card's fine. Anyone know
why it wouldn't work during boot because i don't get any error
messages when loading the module or restarting the network
services so....
TIA
jeff
