I can't quite remeber, but I think that solaris wants a whole disk to
itself. I wasn't able to get solaris to install with another operating
system on the disk, but that was a while ago, and I probably did
something wrong. Here's some suggestions:

Install Solaris on a disk of it's own. Solaris is Greedy, and want
everything for itself. When it asks you where to put the boot loader,
put it on that disk only. you should be able to get lilo to be able to
point to it without any hassles :)

there is actually a newsgroup for the solaris i386 distro. the ppl on
there would probably know exactly how to install it nicely.
