mkbootdisk: Does it work?

I mkbootdisk well for RH-Linux 6.0 kernel 2.2.5-15.
When I boot with it, I get a message at a later stage:

Warning: Unable to open an initial console.
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

Let ideas flow here now...
