The other days I had a problem with named. Restarting named solved the
problem, but I would like to know why that happened.
I'll explain how our name server is working (very good for the past 3
weeks, that was when we installed it). We have a small intranet with
windows and Linux PCs. The server that runs named gives name resolution
to the PCs in the intranet, and does cache of name recuestes of PCs in
the intranet for names that are out of our domain.
Our domain is not registerd so we add the line notify no;
The name daemon seamed to have died Feb 25 at 6:00, and this is what was
in /var/log/messages:
