I'm having difficulty getting PPP to work correctly on a desktop
computer (P200 w/RH6.1). I've successfully installed RH6.1 on an IBM
ThinkPad 770 with a PCMCIA modem.
On the desktop computer, PPP dials the number (local ISP) and then
disconnects as soon as it makes a connection. The LOG states: CONNECT
48000/ARQ/V90/LAPM/V42BIS.
Then I get a message that "The remote system is required to authenticate
itself but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use
to do so." This is followed by the PPPD terminating.
