KDE sound problems?

Hi,

    I do not know if it is posible to ask questions about KDE here, so if it
not so, please let me know. The problem that I have encountered is that
after configuring my thinkpad computer sound system as sound blaster
compatible with the sndconf utility I can not get KDE to play any sound but
the cdrom player.

Any advice will be welcomed.
