On a LAN, I don't bother with ntp. I use rdate. You just have to make sure
it's not blocked in the server's inetd.conf.
If you also have Winboxes you can keep them correct by putting this command:
NET TIME /SET /Y \\linuxbox
in a batch file in the Startup folder.
