I am hoping somebody on the list might be able to help me out with this NTP problem. I have been trying to get NTP to work on my Red Hat 6.0 system and while it will work one time, after that it fails. Attached is a log illustrating what is happening. As you can see, whether or not I use the ntp.drift file, I get the same message. Might anybody have some insight as to where I might look to see why it is quitting after synchronizing only one time? Thanks in advance, Jim Here is the log file: Mar 22 16:27:26 mailtest ntpd[980]: ntpd 4.0.99g Wed Mar 22 11:16:22 PST 2000 (2) Mar 22 16:27:26 mailtest ntpd[980]: precision = 13 usec Mar 22 16:27:26 mailtest ntpd[980]: using kernel phase-lock loop 0001 Mar 22 16:27:26 mailtest ntpd[980]: invalid frequency from /etc/ntp.drift Mar 22 16:37:23 mailtest ntpd[980]: time reset -40.758434 s Mar 22 16:37:23 mailtest ntpd[980]: kernel pll status change 41 Mar 22 16:37:23 mailtest ntpd[980]: synchronisation lost Mar 22 17:09:17 mailtest ntpd[1095]: ntpd 4.0.99g Wed Mar 22 11:16:22 PST 2000 (2) Mar 22 17:09:17 mailtest ntpd[1095]: precision = 12 usec Mar 22 17:09:17 mailtest ntpd[1095]: using kernel phase-lock loop 0041 Mar 22 17:19:30 mailtest ntpd[1095]: time reset 141.635262 s Mar 22 17:19:30 mailtest ntpd[1095]: kernel pll status change 41 Mar 22 17:19:30 mailtest ntpd[1095]: synchronisation lost -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
