Howdy, I've got a Gateway Solo 9300 and I'm having some trouble getting a 3com 3CXFE575CT to work with RH 6.0 - I say some because while it fails at boot, if I issue the /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart command, all is well. Weird. I downloaded pcmcia-cs-3.1.13 from sourceforge.org and compiled it as per the PCMCIA HOWTO. I aimed it at the source directory let fly and all seemed well. (I did NOT recompile the kernel.) However, when the Gateway boots, it seems to detect the card wrong seeing it as a 3Com 3CCFE575CT LAN Cardbus Cyclone (and I got one of these too, stuck it in and it won't detect at boot either so I'm even more confused) and then I get these messages in the system log file: Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: Linux PCMCIA Card Services 3.1.13 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: kernel build: 2.2.5-15 #1 Mon Apr 19 23:00:46 EDT 1999 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: options: [pci] [cardbus] [apm] [pnp] Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: PCI routing table version 1.0 at 0xfdef0 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: 00:0a.0 -> irq 9 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: 00:0c.0 -> irq 9 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: PnP: PNP BIOS installation structure at 0xc00f5ed0 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: PnP: PNP BIOS version 1.0, entry at f0000:9d4a, dseg at 400 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: Intel PCIC probe: Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: TI 1450 PCI-to-CardBus at slot 00:0a, mem 0x68000000 Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: host opts [0]: [ring] [serial pci & irq] [pci irq 9] [lat 32/32] [bus 32/34] Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: host opts [1]: [ring] [serial pci & irq] [pci irq 9] [lat 32/32] [bus 35/37] Mar 23 12:52:17 magellan kernel: PCI irq 9 seems to be wedged!
