I just picked up a Kodak DC215Zoom yesterday and a Sandisk PC Card attachment
to read the compact flash cards on a laptop. Everything is working just fine.
I do get some errors when I put the card back in. Is there anything special I
should do when inserting/removing the card?
When I insert it I get a message in /var/log/messages:
initializing socket 1
socket 1: ATA/IDE Fixed Disk
executing: 'insmod /lib/modules/2.2.12-20/pcmcia/ide_cs.o'
hde: Micron MTCF004A, ATA DISK drive

hde: Micron MTCF004A, 3MB w/oKB Cache, CHS=123/2/32
hde: hde1
ide_cs: hde: Vcc = 5.0, Vpp = 0.0
executing: './ide start hde'
+ ./ide: /sbin/ide_info: No such file or directory
hde: hde1
hde: drive_cmd: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Erro }
hde: drive_cmd: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError}
hde: hde1
When I remove it (after unmounting) I get these entries:
hde: hde1
hde: hde1
ide2: unexpected interrupt, status=0xff, count=1
shutting down socket 1
executing: './ide stop hde'
+ ./ide: /sbin/ide_info: No such file or directory
executing: 'rmmod ide_cs'
Should I run that ./ide stop hde before I remove the card? I just don't want to
trash the card considering what they cost. On that note, anyone know where to
get them inexpensively? I just have the 4MB Kodak onen that came with the
camera.
Thanks.
