Try using the ne.o module and see if that helps.

I know, it's not supposed to work that way. But I have a LinkSys that is
PCI. I have to use the ISA module and pass the IRQ in conf.modules. I
managed to get it to work with ne2k a couple of times. But it's been
hit-and-miss, not some special configuration.
