When logging onto my user account, to Gnome, RH 6.2, I sometimes get
booted out the first time I try. I get the following message in my
messages log:

Apr 26 08:38:44 CV150607-A PAM_pwdb[667]: (gdm) session opened for
user john by (uid=0)
Apr 26 08:38:44 CV150607-A gdm[667]: gdm_slave_session_start: john on
:0
Apr 26 08:38:46 CV150607-A PAM_pwdb[667]: (gdm) session closed for
user john
Apr 26 08:38:46 CV150607-A gdm[667]: gdm_auth_user_remove: /home/john
is not owned by uid 0.
Apr 26 08:38:46 CV150607-A gdm[667]: gdm_auth_user_remove: Ignoring
suspiciously looking cookie file /home/john/.Xauthority

Second log in attempt always works.

Can someone tell me what this means? Thanks.

John
