I thought my NIC was working, but now ... when I did a "traceroute localhost" or "taceroute 192.168.1.1(the ip I assigned to the NIC)" it reported "could not find any interfaces". I am using SMC eznet 10/100 pci NIC, which is supposedly supported by the rtl3198 driver (not sure though). I was able to assign ip number to it using "ifconfig". So what is the deal? -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
