I think you should restore the cpp, glibc*, to what came with your
distribution.
Run in a "script -a cap.txt" (see man script) and use "make -n" ; this
saves results of what make would have done, to the file cap.txt for your
diagnosis of the first problem occurring. (see man make). If this is java,
do you need a java compiler? gcc is a c compiler g++ is a c++ compiler.
If this is corba, maybe you ask in newsgroup comp.lang.java.corba?
