a simple question about LILO. in the recent book
"Linux System Security," there is a short section on
LILO which contains the sentence:
"LILO reads the /etc/lilo.conf configuration file
at boot time."
to the best of my knowledge, this isn't true. the
information in /etc/lilo.conf is placed in the MBR,
and is also references by the MBR, as a result of
running "lilo".
as far as i know, /etc/lilo.conf plays no part
whatever in the actual boot process. yes or no?
