Note for Solaris Intel users: The AdabasD database engine is not
available on the Solaris Intel platform.
Important Download Options
You have several choices for downloading StarOffice 5.2 once you have
selected your language and
platform. You can select the first link which downloads the entire
StarOffice 5.2 file or you can
download all of the StarOffice 5.2 segments.
NOTE: The "Download StarOffice 5.2" link will download, in one large
file, the setup files needed
to install the StarOffice 5.2 software.
The "Download StarOffice 5.2 Database" link will download the files
required to install the Adabas
D database engine. If you do not wish to work with the database engine,
there is no need to
download this file.
The "Download StarOffice 5.2 Player" link will download the files
needed to install the StarOffice
5.2 Player software, which allows you to show a StarOffice Impress
presentation on a system that
does not have StarOffice software installed. You do not need to
download or install the StarOffice
Player if you do not wish to use this functionality.
The "Download StarOffice 5.2 Segment 1of x" links will download smaller
segments of the
StarOffice 5.2 software, that equal the single, large download. You
must download all of the
segments in order to have the files you need to install the StarOffice
5.2 software.
We recommend that you use one directory for downloading all the files.
Note for Linux and Solaris[tm] customers only:
It will be necessary for a chmod command to be executed to set read,
write, and execute permission.
For example:
% chmod 777 *.bin
Once you have set the permissions, you can run the setup, and
StarOffice 5.2 will do the rest.
