 Slight oops here. I mixed up Asus K7V and A7V. The A7V is a sockel 
motherboard, so it definitely has no problems with running Thunderbirds with 
the on die cache running at full clock speed. This problem only occurs in some 
slot Athlon motherboards (but probably not with the K7V).
 You will have a problem with the UDMA-100 controller though. The Promise 
PDC20265 is not yet supported under Linux, so you will have to run your hd's 
in PIO mode. That's why I'd prefer an Epox 8-KTA board for the moment if I can 
lay my hands on one (couldn't find one on the dutch market yet though). On the 
other hand, the ability to run 8 hd's sounds kinda cool (or just overdone ;)).
