Check your BIOS and turn off the Virus detection there. It is not TRUE
virus detection, but simply checking for a MBR signature outside of what it
knows (i.e. MS stuff).

Subject: linux & win2000 dual boot
I am new with Linux. I installed linux on my computer which already had win
200 every thing went well during installation and I can use Linux too in
dual boot. The only Problem I have whenever I boot ( start ) my computer I
get Master Boot Record (MBR) virus warning from my computer. and if I
uninstall linux and use win 200 only the warning goes away but it comes back
if I install Linux again.
I already had win200 I used partation magic to create
linux partation. and then on newly created logical partation I installed
Linux. Please help .... I never used linux befor.
Saleem.
