Does anyone know what problems there might be when trying to install RH 7 and 6.2 on an older Compaq 2120? The RAM has been upgraded to 4 sticks of 72 pin, 32 meg each. The HDD upgraded to a 4.8 gig and the CD to 12x. The CPU has als been upgraded to 166 from 120. The machine had Win98 SE on it with no problems. When first booting from the CD (which was changed out with the same results), the video is all screwy. When doing a text install, it totally locks the unit at the point it is ready to begin the install. The exact same thing happens when using 6.2 as well. All cards (NIC, Sound, etc) have been removed as well. The onboard video shows as having built in support. The latest RomPaqs have been installed and is running the latest BIOS flash. Totally confused here...any ideas as to where to look?
