Actually as of a week ago you can install without doing the 6.2->7.0
upgrade if you use the libraries provided by someone a valinux. Check out
http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18391
for a discussion of the problem. I used the solution posted by
hjl@valinux successfully to get Oracle 8i running on my Redhat 7.0
which was posted just last week.
