I tried this on the axp-list first but didn't get any bites... Anyone here
have an idea what's going on?

I have a Yamaha CDR-100 attached to my pws running a-RHL 6.2, and I'm
getting the following errors at the fixating stage of the CD writing
process:-

  Fixating...
cdrecord: Input/output error. philips fixation: scsi sendcmd: retryable
error
  CDB: E9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00
  status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
  Sense Bytes: 70 00 06 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 29 00 00 00
Sense Key: 0x6 Unit Attention, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x29 Qual 0x00 (power on, reset, or bus device reset occurred)
Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 65.643s timeout 480s
  Fixating time: 65.692s

and then this when it tries to eject the CD:-

cdrecord: Input/output error. prevent/allow medium removal: scsi sendcmd:
retryable error
  CDB: 1E 00 00 00 00 00
  status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
  Sense Bytes: 70 00 02 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00
Sense Key: 0x2 Not Ready, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x04 Qual 0x00 (logical unit not ready, cause not reportable)
Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 0.001s timeout 40s

This doesn't seem to prevent use of the freshly written CD, but does seem to
prevent me from making multisession disks. It doesn't seem to happen when
the CDR is hooked up to an intel box running RHL 6.2... Any ideas?
