I wish I was thinking clearer - it sounds like you have another program
that has the database open, but I can't remember the command to find
it. The RPM data base only allows one program to assess it at a time
because of the way it is normaly opened. You can try the lsof command, if
you have it installed, and see if it gives you what program has the data
base open.
