Usualy, all you will need to do is to install the kernel source, and
change the symlink /usr/src/linux to point to the new source.  Make sure
you change it back after you are done.  Also, be carefull about the
version of gcc or egcs you use to compile the kernel.  There are some
problems compiling older versions of the kernel with newer versions of
gcc.  Gcc 2.7.2.3 works fine with 2.0.X kernels.  If you can not get it to
compile on your 7.0 box, let me know.  I have one 5.2 machine still
running that I can compile it on if you send me your .config file.
