Hello,
I have "smbcleient over PPP" qwestion.
I connected from Linux RH 6.1 to WINNT 4.0 server
via PPP. When I ran from Linux smbclient, I received error. See below pls.
As far as I understand it's PPP config error. I use static IP adresses:

RH 10.1.10.2
WinnT 10.1.10.1

ping from Linux to winnt and from winnt to linux - works.
I can connect from Linux via telnet to winnt to 139 port
By the way if I connected via local network with the same configuration of samba-
samba works. Is it possible that problem with winnt RAS version, service pack,
netbios ?

# ifconfig ppp0
ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
          inet addr:10.1.10.2 P-t-P:10.1.10.1 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:26 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:30 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:10

# smbclient -I 10.1.10.1 -L ARTHUR -R bcast
added interface ip=10.1.10.2 bcast=10.1.10.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
session request to ARTHUR failed (Not listening on called name)
session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Not listening on called name)

Any comments pls
Tx in advance !!!!!
