Since I saw neither HTML tags nor a warning that any HTML had been in it and had been removed, I had no reason to think that this might be the case. So, you may very well have been the only one to note that possibility. To which I respond: The HTML stripping process should take place prior to the footer being attached...if what you describe, below, is actually what's happening, then I submit that it is still a misconfiguration of the listserv.
