Greetings everyone.
Here's the scenario:
My company just installed a RH6.2 box to be a fax server and a file
server. Our main application that all of the users work in is on an NCR
Unix server. (For now, it will soon be moving to a Solaris box). It's
character based, so everyone uses terminal emulation to do their work.
I need to be able to have the mails that the fax server sends show up in
the user's mailbox on the NCR system. ** Note: The Unix mail system is
seperate from the internet mail server (unfortunately NT Sendmail based,
although a co-worker and I are trying to get the change made to Linux).
The current fax server is also on NCR Unix, and they have linked the
mail folders so that it works between the 2 machines. I just haven't
been able to figure out how to link the Linux box with the main Unix
server.
We run NIS and NFS, and I've got that working (finally!). I've tried
using the same procedure that was used on the 2 Unix boxes, but nothing
happened. Basically, it involved mounting the /var/mail dir on the main
server to a folder on the secondary, then creating a symlink to
/var/mail on the secondary.
Does anyone know of an FAQ or HOWTO? I'd gladlt rtfm if I knew where tfm
was.:)
Thanks,
Wayne.
