Following my recent problems with my TNT2 card under RedHat 7.0 I've given up
and rebuilt my system with RedHat 6.2
- My TNT2 card now works perfectly without any screen corruption at all. No
need for loading the nVidia drivers either!
- I got DMA working on my HDD using hdparm. For some reason turning on DMA
while using RedHat 7.0 on the same hardware would always result in data
corruption!
- VMware now runs a lot smoother (including mouse movement) which I spose is
partly due to the DMA speeding up my drive accesses.
- My SB16 now has a greater volume than under RH7.0.
- My computer now correctly powers off which it refused to do under RH7.0.
All in all, my system seems to be running a *LOT* better under RH6.2
Thanks to all who tried to help with my video problems *grin*
