That hostname is the DNS of your machine. localhost is replaced by that or
whatever other node you're on. localhost will still lookup as localhost
(provided it's in your /etc/hosts file or something).

If you have a NIC on a private network, you can have it say whatever you
want. My computer is "circuit" no matter what's goin' on.
