well that was a done deal for long time now...and its in modules.conf (
RH7)
------------------------
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
options de4x5 io=0x1000 irq=9
alias sound au8830
alias midi au8830
alias eth0 de4x5
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias scsi_hostadapter ppa
------------------------
but is this correct?..there are two lines for de4x5...granted one is
options but is this out of order? and causing grief?

when i boot ( im using "none" for network config's interface
configuration protocol as dhctp and bootp do not work they just hang) i
do get message about
invalid paramater for de4x5....invalid parm_irq but if it refers to irq6
for de4x5 thats what its set to in linuxconf......

One way, not the correct but. one that works: add the insmod line to
rc.local, followed by restarting the network or something like:

        ifconfig eth0 up

-------------------
okay and thanks...adding that to rc.local did trick so one less thing to
worry about :)
but restarting linux ( not ifconfig method just hard restart ) still
won't bring up eth0 i still get error about invalid parm_irq as above..

:)
