I also have "man up2date" now after doing this here (the formatting of the
following is perhaps not quite correct):

# rpm -Uvh rpm-python-3.0.5-9.6x.i386.rpm python-xmlrpc-1.2.1-0.6.
x.i386.rpm rhn_register-1.0.2-0.6.x.noarch.rpm popt-1.5-9.6x.i386.rpm
python-1.5.2-27.6.x.i386.rpm up2date-2.1.7-0.6.x.i386.rpm

Thanks for the encouragement, John ... I really needed it after too much
work with "failed dependencies" ... :)
