my network card may be similar but it isnt exactly the same.
maybe this info will help you.

i  use 3c905b network card under redhat 7.0
the standard "becker" (3c59x) driver worked for me but caused errors as
viewed
from ifconfig. specifically, overun and frame errors.  the driver was slow
when ftp'ing large amounts of data.

i compiled my own driver from the 3com drivers.
i had a lot of problems doing this.
it had to do with the gcc -- kgcc problems under redhat 7.0
this is the link that finally helped me compile the module

yea i used info from intel for my 3com card :)

i will send you my compiled module if you like.
i dont know if that would work on your system or not.
i am not knowledgable on this sort of thing.
i am using kernel 2.2.18
