I have been trying to set up a modem for the past 10 days. Even though, I
have made some progress, I still cannot connect to my ISP. I am able to log
on and the following message is displayed:
Serial connection established.
Ioctl(PPPIOCGFLAGGS): Invalid argument
Hang up (SIGHUP)
Exit
One way that I try to connect is using a script ppp-up. During the set up
process I am supposed to create a device called ppp0 using the linuxconf.
The options that the document describes do not appear under my linuxconf, so
I tried to create it by using the netcfg but when I click the add button to
create a new interface the choice for ppp is not available. (the guide that
I am using is found in 'http://www.linuxhelp.org' and the option 'ppp help'.
Is called 'SirPlaya's Guide to setting up ppp'.
I am using RH 7.0. please any help or insights that anyone can provide me
it would be really appreciated.
Cordially,
Alvaro F. Jiménez
