For home use, you do not want the Professional Server.  A big part of
the price is for support.  For a home user, just starting out, you are
better off using the list for support.  The type of questions you are
likely to have are ones we are better at providing answers to.  The
types of problems the support for the Professional Server is set up for
are things like setting up vertual servers, Interfacing web pages with a
sql data base, etc.  Most newbies would not understand the questions,
much less the answers.  I consider myself past the newbie stage, but
a lot of the problems you run into with a production server are over my
head...  ;-)

As for books, the guides that come with the boxed set are a good place
to start.  You can look at them online at
http://www.redhat.com/apps/support/documentation.html

I am not sure what other books are good nowdays for a newbie, so I will
leave that to others.
