I don't know of any smart UPS software for it, but you can get several
different packages that will run it in the "dumb" (contact closure)
mode if it supports it. Most UPSs will support this mode.
Two that come to mind are powstatd and nut. I do not have the URLs
handy, but you can do a search on http://freshmeat.net.
