Everything here is theory, so YMMV...

The Deskstar 75GXP's are great drives. I have no idea of actual benchmarks, 
but a 7200-rpm drive with a 2-MB buffer sounds great, and IBM has 
traditionally made fast drives. I would actually invest the money in 
switching to them, but this is a feeling and I have no data to back it up.

I would, however, note that perhaps the most significant speed benefit 
should come from increasing the number of drives, shouldn't it? Given 
RAID-0 characteristics, using three drives or more should provide 
performance benefits above what you'll get from a single drive. You might 
want to take into consideration the idea of buying either three IBM drives 
or two more of what you already have.

I got ahold of four identical 20GB drives for chump change, and when I get 
home I'm going to set up my personal box with all four doing RAID-0, also 
on a KT7A-RAID. I'm hoping my theory is right and the thing smokes...
