Make sure the user named can write to the directory.

[root@tuxfan root]# ls -ld /var/run/named/
drwxr-xr-x    2 named    named        4096 Dec 21 18:13 /var/run/named/

[root@tuxfan root]# ls -l /var/run/named/
- -rw-r--r--    1 named    named           6 Dec 21 18:13 named.pid

- --
