Janyne, These options can go in ~/.Xresources. I haven't played with the color options like this, but from what I see on the web page you mention, it should take the form:
Netscape.ncols: 256 I think that will work; but if not, try "Netscape*ncols: 256" (that doesn't look right to me, but you never know...) I think that if the option is something you would pass to the program on the command line, you would use a '.' to make a "tight binding;" and if it you want to set a "loose" binding that you could over-ride on the command line, use a '*'. See "man X" for more. Here are some options I use for different apps as they appear in my ~/.Xresources file: Netscape*documentFonts.sizeIncrement: 5 Netscape*toolBar.destinations.isEnabled: false Netscape*toolBar.myshopping.isEnabled: false Netscape*toolBar.search.isEnabled: false Netscape*toolBar.viewSecurity.isEnabled: false #ifdef COLOR *customization: -color #endif emacs*Background: DarkSlateGrey emacs*Foreground: Wheat emacs*pointerColor: Orchid emacs*cursorColor: Orchid emacs*bitmapIcon: on emacs*font: fixed emacs.geometry: 80x40+275+4 emacs.font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--14-130-75-75-c-70-iso10646-1 I have no experience with diskless terminals, so I could be all wet here; I'm assuming that you have a "home" directory on the server, no?
