I would appear the 1.3 rpms for NIS do not work correctly on RH7.2. I downloaded ver 2.2 from rpmfind.net, install and configured them on all three servers and it worked. I start ypxfrd on the master server and used authconfig to set up my /etc/yp.conf as follows: < -- snippet --> domain fq server zen.fitnessquest.com ypserver ying.fitnessquest.com ypserver yang.fitnessquest.com

I have the master working great and both of slaves work fine as clients. Every time I run /usr/lib/yp/ypinit -s master it the following error: Can't enumerate maps from zen.fitnessquest.com. Please check that it is running. I'm not sure what to check next. I've checked securenets and ypserv.conf. Do you have to put the +++++s in the /etc/passwd file? Any help will be greatly appreciated. _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
