We have a number of redhat servers running 7.0, 7.1 ,7.2 and monitor a number of processes which are running on them.
When /etc/init.d/syslog is run it starts both a syslogd and klogd process. After some time, could be a short time or a day or more, I find that the klogd process goes away on many of the servers, but not all of them. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? Is it normal behavior? Is it a problem?
