Hi Ed, Well..i am not going to be really looking at Samba more than just using the box as a apps server..like perforce...

It's not that simple. For starters, RH box is too vague. The issue here is you probably want Samba to authenticate against a domain, so you need to focus on Samba, not Red Hat Linux. Unless, of course, you want to authenticate all your user logons against a domain, in which case you've got multiple issues and not all can be solved with the release of Samba shipping with Red Hat Linux 7.2. I suggest you start by going to http://www.samba.org and reviewing the docs there. Depending on what you want to do, you may need to upgrade Samba to the latest release.
