I myself tried the whole promise thing! The driver is so large that you have to strip all kinds of stuff out of the boot.img. I kept getting stopped when the cdrom was not found due to having a cdrom that needed the adaptec driver loaded!
Gave up and did the expert install and gave the system the driver disk. Promise has made a driver for uniproc machines for 7.2! I have called and they are working on the smp version now. -matt > -----Original Message----- > From: sixx [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Sunday, March 24, 2002 7:51 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: RH 7.2 custom kernel/modules in boot.img > > > On Mon, 2002-03-25 at 09:47, Garrett Mead wrote: > > Good day, > > I am interested in installing RH 7.2 on a new system > which has a > > promise SX6000 IDE RAID controller.
