VNC wont't accept *any* network connection when running under inetd or xinetd. But if you look at the vnc pages and java classes you'll realize you can copy the files to any Apache page directory and just change the applet parameters so it connects to the vnc-under-inetd and so you get the same simple http connection you are used to when using the vncserver script.
