Have you tried downloading mail with another mail program like
kmail or pine atleast than you would know if it was just a setting
in netscape. I used to have one users mail that would hang windows
everytime I had to view the mail on the server and delete it to
get it to download and clear the server. I use pine but I have
never had trouble downloading several hundred messages at once.
