I'm heavy (heavier than I used to be anyway), but I doubt it's the sense
you meant. (8^0)

I had this problem awhile back running up2date. It turned out something
was amiss withe upgrades of the rpm packages (rpm*.rpm) that caused the
problems. I never had to corrupted superblock or anything.

What I did to fix it was I went to a mirror and downloaded a new up2date
(that was part of the problem too, I think) and all of the other RPMs
and manually updated them. After that everything worked OK.

I remember (but not in detail) that a lot of others had a similar
problem at the time. Someone figured out exactly what packages needed to
be upgraded to fix the problem. In my usual brute force-manner, I just
did the whole kit'n'kaboodle and got it over with.

Two superblock problems have to be coincidence and caused by something
else. It might be possible if trying to upgrade the kernel via the older
up2date. But if the update situation isn't even completing, I don't see
any way that could cause the problem.

Sorry I didn't jump in sooner. I get so much mail that I skim a lot.
Sometimes I skim right past something that I can answer and don't
realize it until later.
